Denver temps could soar to a record for July 10

The National Weather Service expects temperature in Denver on Sunday to approach, or beat, the record of 99 degrees for the day, which was set in 1955.

“We are looking at the upper 90s to 100,” said Natalie Gusack, of the weather service.

A 100-degree day would be short of the all-time high of 105 degrees first set on Aug. 8, 1878. That number was duplicated on July 20, 2005, and again on June 25 and 26, 2012, Gusack said.
