As the 2015-2016 NBA Finals kickoff Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers enter with a ton of talent. In fact, they are far better positioned to compete for the championship than they were last year, when ousted by the Golden State Warriors in 2015.
This year, the Cavs are at full strength with a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving – as well as an ultra-motivated LeBron James.
Golden State, thanks to the hot-shooting ‘Splash Brothers’, Desmond Green, and a resurgent Andre Iguadala, brought the bay area it’s first NBA championship in more than 40 years in 2015.
Golden State is favored to repeat. Vegas sports books have installed the Warriors as early 2-1 favorites.
All the ‘underdog’ talk doesn’t faze Lebron in the least. He says ‘stupidity’ is driving it.
James was having none of it when he was asked the question, “Are you an underdog?”
Huh? Underdog? Me? I would never be an underdog.
To Lebron, installing favorites and underdogs serves no real purpose other than to build conversation – and betting lines.
