US Airstrikes in North Syria Killed Entire Families, Locals Confirm

US Airstrikes in North Syria Killed Entire Families, Locals Confirm:

The US-backed offensive in and around Manbij has been going on for two months, with only a part of the city and surrounding area ever captured. The failing offensive on the ground is being overshadowed however, by the US air campaign.

That’s because US airstrikes in and around Manbij have been killing a lot of civilians, and a Tuesday morning salvo against some nearby villages was the worst of all, killing entire families that the US said they “mistook for ISIS fighters.”

US Airstrikes Kill 20 Civilians in Syria’s Manbij

US Airstrikes Kill 20 Civilians in Syria’s Manbij:

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, US and coalition airstrikes against the northern Syrian city of Manbij have killed at least 20 civilians today, bringing the death toll of the nearly two month siege to around 100 civilians….

Some 50,000 civilians are believed to be in Manbij, which has made the repeated US airstrikes against the city extremely problematic. While the US rarely admits to any civilian deaths, this huge toll once again reflects why the US-backed forces aren’t being greeted as “liberators” when they take cities.
