Walmart in itself has a very good sustainability program in each of its stores. Each store recycles cardboard, plastic, and aluminum cans. Now granted they don’t recycle alot of aluminum, but they still do.

Now if Walmart paid customers to bring recyclables in, they could give customers store credit in the form of a gift card and then sell the materials to the recycling centers. Plastic, cardboard, aluminum, paper, glass and wood could be recycled with this method.

Walmart could conceivably generate 100’s millions of dollars in revenue each year.
